A thought

Although no one man can predict exactly what if any implications this new found method of communication may have upon society in the future. I have often wondered what would happen as people gradually began to understand the vast potential they have locked inside of that pc sitting on there desk.

The Cybertext Communication Proposal is one such possible means by which we could begin to tap that potential, the potential to communicate in a way far superior to the current "standard" means. CCP offers an alternative way to view "text" information, not displayed across the screen as this text is being currently displayed but instead to throw the words "at you" so as to fill the screen with each and every word being "read" ONE WORD AT A TIME ! the rate at which the words are cycled through "the speed at which you read" can be set to be controled by the mouse. ie move the mouse slightly forward for a faster rate and move it back to slow dow or stop (even back up ) and review what you just read. and these "words" are not going to be the traditional shaped black lines that we today call "fonts" but instead ,through a gradual process, you will begin to associate letters with colors and eventually will need the shape not at all. at this point you will begin to find your self with the ability to decypher meaning from a series"flashes" of colored light which are thrown "at you " onscreen. at this phase the screen will appear as a tunnel which you are "falling through," a tunnel of information, of words. A system which will allow for exponentially faster reading with a higher absorption rate at the same time. Now if what I claim above turnes out to be true. perhaps we could compare the implications of that to those of Einsteins work. Could he have possibly known what effect he would have upon the world thereafter? Perhaps he did, but its unlikly.

For the sceptic:

I can understand if this is all a bit difficult to understand, imagine the look on my friends faces when I first tried to explain this concept to them. some got it some didn't (and didn't want to). Im shure Edison got similar reactions when he recorded sound for the first time. Scepticism, I welcome with open arms, its what keeps me inline. Sinicism however I would rather see kept well away from this project.

And now on the Implications of the CCP:

As stated above one can never know for shure, but I suspect, with confidence, the implications of the CCP will be far reaching and ever changing. the term "paradigom shift" fits well here.

After all what changes would occure when people suddenly find that they can read the average Steven King novel (some are quite lengthy) in less than 1/3 the time?

One of the most obvious implications would be that people would get mor done in less time, perhaps one of the more obscure however possible implications would be that of bridging the gap between computers and people in a monumental way, As I said no one can know for shure, that is untill we try. I for one am looking forward to finding out.
